Career Opportunities in Nursing
Nurses and nursing assistants are an integral part of medical care system. They are required in the hospitals and health centers right from general ward to operation theatre. Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (A.N.M), the basic programme is the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (A.N.M), General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M), The diploma course is known as General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M), Nursing also offers graduation (B.sc Nursing), Post Graduation (M.sc Nursing) and Doctoral programmes (PhD Nursing).
A nurse can upgrade from the lower to the higher level if he / she is willing to do so. Post B.sc Nursing is an example for this. Through this course a G.N.M Nurse can upgrade to a graduate level. In addition to these programmes, a Nurse can specialize in various departments by attending courses in specialization. Dialysis, Oncology, Paediatrics, Operation Theatre, Intensive Care Units etc are some areas of specialization. Nowadays it is mandatory that every Nurse should be a BLS Certified (Basic Life Support).

The demand for qualified nurses from India is increasing in USA, Europe, Gulf and other countries. Indian nurses have earned a good name in other countries for their skills and dedication towards work. For entering into USA as a nurse, you need to take the CGFNS certification. You should get your qualification and credential evaluated. Then you need to pass the English test also.
There is also a growing demand for nurses, both male and female in countries abroad where the numbers of single, elderly, and incapacitated patients is increasing. As the training provided in India is considered on a par with international standards, there are plenty of employment avenues for nurses in the Far East, West Asia, Australia and the United States of America.
